A few spoilers are starting to surface online for Outlander Season 7, which is currently in production. Even the show's star Sam Heughan, who plays Jamie Fraser, is dropping major spoilers about what fans may anticipate from the new season. Consider yourself forewarned, Outlander fans who dare to read any farther!

Sam Heughan Drops Major Outlander Season 7 Spoiler

The upcoming Outlander Season 7 premiere was actually written by author Diana Gabaldon, albeit she was unaware of this at the time because it was scheduled to be the ninth episode of Season 6. Heughan claims the first few episodes are "really strong" and that they "really start the season off with a bang."

“I know there’s so much that we are still about to get to. Not only that you’ve got a lot of new characters coming in or characters that I think are anticipated by fans — including, of course, Jamie Fraser’s son — but a bunch of new characters as well,” Heughan told Us Weekly.

After they conclude the plot from book six, they will go on to Gabaldon's seventh book, An Echo in the Bone. This heralds the return of fan-favorite Lord John Grey (David Berry), and the start of the American Revolution.

A Super-Sized Season

Because the pandemic and Caitriona Balfe's (Claire Fraser) pregnancy reduced Season 6 from 12 to eight episodes, they weren't able to finish Gabaldon's sixth book, A Breath of Snow and Ashes.

As a result, the final four episodes of Season 6 will now serve as the premiere of a massive Outlander Season 7. And the plot will continue from the cliffhanger in which Claire and Jamie were separated when she went on trial for the murder of Malva Christie (Jessica Reynolds).

The tragic fire that motivated Brianna (Sophie Skelton) and Roger (Richard Rankin) to go back in time to save Jamie and Claire should finally be revealed to fans. And it should be clarified how their obituaries came up in the local newspaper.

Sam Heughan Answer’s Season 6 Finale’s Cliffhanger

Claire was arrested for Malva's murder by Richard Brown (Chris Larkin) and his men in the Season 6 finale. Despite the fact that she is innocent and was attempting to perform a C-section to save Malva's baby, many Fraser's Ridge residents feel Claire is guilty.

She was forcibly removed from Jamie at the end of the season. And it was unclear whether he would be in Wilmington in time to save her. Heughan has recently revealed that his character did, in fact, arrive on time.

“The whole finale was really fun to work on, it felt high action and it felt like western, the standoff and the shoot out,” Heughan said, per Express. “It leaves it on this positive note that at least Jamie’s now out there and he’s going to find her and save her.”
