The Droughtlander thoughts between Outlander Season 5 and Outlander Season 6 have lasted longer than any previous Droughtlander. Fortunately, the end is near, since the show will return with new episodes in March.
As the spring launch date approaches, Starz is providing fans with more and more information about the upcoming season.
Outlander Season 6: Roger's Journey
Today, we're excited to share something new from Richard Rankin and his character, Roger, especially as it appears that a compelling story awaits him.
The actor does his part in the video below to explain what happened in the previous season of the show, particularly in terms of him and Brianna (Sophie Skelton) opting to stay at Fraser's Ridge in the past. It's a lot more of a home than either of them thought at first, and living in now may provide them both a lot more stability and comfort.
Rankin explains that for Roger, much of Season 6 will be about giving him a reason to remain in North Carolina at this time. Many of his skills are better suited to the 20th century, therefore there will be an adjustment period here. He'll need to be devoted to continuing to learn and communicate with others during this time, so it won't be easy for him to find out right away.
Roger's journey will take him to many places, but it is our hope that he will preserve much of the essence that made him great: his heart, passion, and intellect. These are the qualities that made him stand out, and we hope that as we get closer to the Revolutionary War, he can use his historical knowledge and vision to help everyone.
Outlander Season 6 Release Date
During a panel at New York Comic-Con on Oct. 9, Outlander released the first Season 6 footage, confirming that "the storm," better known as the American Revolutionary War, is heading to Fraser's Ridge in the new season.
Outlander Season 6 premieres on Starz on Sunday, March 6 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The premiere will run for 90 minutes. Diana Gabaldon, author of the Outlander series, confirmed the debut date on Nov. 22 during the launch event for the latest book in the series, Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone.
