Outer Banks Renewed by Netflix For Season 3


The Pogues will return to hunt for more treasures and take down more bad guys while clad in bikinis and board shorts. Netflix has finally renewed the American teen mystery series Outer Banks, set on the islands of the same off the coast of North Carolina. Series creators Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke will all return as executive producers and showrunners of the popular Netflix hit.

The first season premiered at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic (April 2020), and Outer Banks delivered a bunch of on-screen getaways for the viewers. Season 2 premiered on July 30, 2021, and the show claimed the No. 1 spot on Netflix's global "top 10 TV series in English" list for the first four weeks after its premiere.

Outer Banks stars a group of local teens who call themselves "Pogues", played by Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, and Madison Bailey. They are on a mission to find treasure worth $400 million in gold as they navigate their tense rivalry with the wealthy Kooks. Season 2 found John B. (Stokes) and Sarah (Cline) on the run in Bhaamas, with friends and foes alike searching for the treasure.

The show also stars Drew Starskey, Austin North, Charles Esten, and Carlacia Grant.

The first two seasons of Outer Banks are currently streaming on Netflix. The streaming giant hasn't officially announced a release date for the third season yet, but expect production to begin soon.
