What's the Latest News on One-Punch Man Season 3?
After years of speculation surrounding the fate of the anime adaptation, One-Punch Man Season 3 was officially announced in August 2022.
The initial announcement was particularly vague. While a teaser visual was released, there was no word on when it might arrive, who would be directing it, or what studio would even be working on it!
At the time of writing, no further news has been officially released regarding One-Punch Man Season 3. While some rumours have come and gone, particularly concerning Season 3's studio, there is still nothing further to report.
What Will One-Punch Man Season 3 Be About?
One-Punch Man is an action-comedy anime that follows Saitama. Once an ordinary salaryman, he went into extreme training for three years and now lives out his full-time hobby of being a hero.
His city and its people are always being threatened by monsters, so there is plenty of work for him. The problem is that Saitama’s power is too strong, defeating every opponent with just one punch and leaving him unsatisfied.
Saitama crosses paths with a young cyborg who wishes to be his disciple and introduced him to the Hero Association which is full of certified heroes.
Shocked that nobody actually knew who Saitama was, he joins the group in search of the thrill that he once lost.

+ 4One-Punch Man is based on the manga of the same name, which itself is based on a webcomic written by ONE.
Seasons one and two adapted around the first 17 volumes of the manga, and season three will likely continue the story where they left off, with the focus on the Hero Association’s efforts against the Monster Association.
How much One-Punch Man Season 3 will cover will depend on the length of the season. However, there are plenty of highly-anticipated fights between the Hero and Monster Associations that fans are looking forward to!

One-Punch Man Season 3 Release Date

The initial August 2022 announcement revealed that the season is in production. Now, 'production' could mean a whole range of things, but usually, anime series take just over a year to go from initial announcement to airing.
With that in mind, we would have estimated that One-Punch Man Season 3 might air in Fall 2023, premiering in October. However, the lack of any announcement so far throws some doubt on that prediction.
With news that One-Punch Man Season 3 is in production, we can be confident of seeing the series within the next year. Whether it arrives in 2023 or 2024 is still up for speculation, but the fact that it's now announced will surely please fans.
Ironically, if season 3 does come out in 2023, the series will remain on schedule. There were also four years between the first (2015) and second (2019) seasons.

Where to Watch One-Punch Man Season 3
click to enlarge + 4It is yet to be confirmed where One-Punch Man Season 3 can be watched, but it will likely be available for most viewers on Crunchyroll.
One-Punch Man Season 3 should be available on Crunchyroll, as the streaming service currently hosts episodes from the first two seasons.
A third season could also appear on Netflix in the future, as the platform does have episodes in certain regions.
Given when we expect the third season to be released, we wouldn’t expect it to appear on Funimation due to the merger with Crunchyroll.
Another big question is whether there will be an English dub of One-Punch Man Season 3. Due to the popularity of the series, we would expect there to be a dub announced alongside the third season.
What Studio Will Produce One-Punch Man Season 3?
click to enlarge + 4While there is no official news regarding which studio will produce One-Punch Man Season 3, it's widely rumoured that a new studio may be taking on the series.
The first season of One-Punch Man was produced by Madhouse. The highly-respected anime studio has continued to produce huge anime since, including the Overlord series and Takt Op. Destiny, which was praised for its action scenes.
The second season of One-Punch Man was produced by J.C.Staff. While another big studio, the animation in season two was largely criticised by fans, so it wouldn’t be surprising if the third season changed studio once more.
There were some early rumours that One-Punch Man Season 3 would be animated by MAPPA, perhaps due to how they've picked up other action series from rival studios, most notably Attack on Titan and Vinland Saga Season 2.
However, those MAPPA rumours appear to be unsubstantiated. We can confirm that, at the time of writing, no studio has been announced for One-Punch Man Season 3.
There have also been no staff announcements either, although it appears that character designer Chikashi Kubota – who produced season 3's teaser – will be returning to the role he's performed for both previous seasons.
Kubota recently provided character designs for Toei Animation's Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, however, it would be a huge surprise if Toei took control over One-Punch Man, as they tend to work on much longer, family-friendly franchises.
