Here’s What Happened Before One Piece Chapter 1072
The previous chapter, The Hero Deploys, begins with Bartholomew Kuma charging directly at the Red Port at the base of the Red Line.
There, everyone begins to wonder where Kuma came from and why he's at the port.
After all, Kuma is well-known for being the celestial dragon's slave who recently escaped from the Land of the Gods, as well as a former sea warlord.
When he began to move, local residents began to flee, fearful that he would do something outrageous and dangerous.
As a result, the Marines are directed to send troops to the northeast of the island, near the Bondola loading area, to subjugate Kuma.
Kuma is clearly not the same person he used to be, as he no longer has a human will and his current programming directive is unknown, making him even more dangerous.
On Egghead Island, CP0 intends to seize any location that Dr. Vegapunk might use to flee with the Straw Hat Pirates.
Now that the CP0 has taken control of all the seraphims, their only concern is dragging Dr. Vegapunk from the Frontier Dome.
Rob Lucci orders his men to destroy all ships they can find in order to prevent him from fleeing, despite Stussy's side comments that he is not listening to the Marines' orders.
Unlike the rest of the Marines, Lucci does not regard Luffy as an emperor.
Dr. Vegapunk Shaka reports on the CP0's movements around the island through the monitors.
Because the CP0 are attempting to incapacitate them and the Vegaforce-1 can only fly within the island's borders, everyone will have to fight the CP0 head-on in order to escape.
To Lilith's chagrin, Shaka insists that their goal as Vegapunk's satellites is not to fight back but to ensure Dr. Vegapunk's escape.
That's when Dr. Vegapunk makes a phone call to the island's other ally, urging them to flee, even if it means being pursued by the government.
Dr. Vegapunk's escape will be simple as long as CP0 is not involved. But, in order to accomplish the impossible, Dr. Vegapunk must collaborate with the Straw Hat Pirates.
Moving on, Dr. Vegapunk asks Usopp, Nami, Sanji, and Franky to help him and the other seven satellites escape the island.
Luffy, on the other hand, is attempting to calm down Jewelry Bonney, who is enraged by the bugs that Dr. Vegapunk previously sent after her.
To everyone's surprise, an alarm sounds throughout the island, signaling that Labophase's defense system has been deactivated.
While every satellite is perplexed, CP0 seizes the opportunity to attack Dr. Vegapunk, despite their suspicions that it is a trap.
The CP0 also notices the Thousand Sunny above the Frontier Dome, along with a robot. As a result, Lucci directs Kaku to permanently destroy the ship.
Kaku attempted to destroy the ship with his Storm Leg Sky Slicer technique, but Zoro, who had awoken from his nap, countered his attack. They began fighting, and Lilith wanted to join the chaos.
Pythagoras reports that the Frontier Dome has been restored, but CP0 has already infiltrated the area, implying that they will come to destroy Thousand Sunny.
While Zoro is on defense, the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates meet in the lab for the first time.
Despite his desire to stay for a while, everyone informs Luffy that they must leave the island as soon as possible.
During their conversation, Robin notices that Dr. Vegapunk has gone missing.
It turns out that Jewelry Bonney is on Dr. Vegapunk's tail because she wants him to restore her father's sense of order.
Somewhere in the New World, the Kid Pirates arrived at Elbaf Island, also known as the home of the giants.
At G-14 Marine Headquarters, Doll asks Vice Admiral Garp to not undercut her manpower, especially since they are planning to confront Blackbeard.
Garp, on the other hand, laughs at Doll's haughtiness, claiming that he has already arrived at the headquarters.
He also summons Helmeppo, who informs him that Blackbeard has kidnapped Koby and that there is nothing he can do.
Before the chapter ends, Garp tells Helmeppo to stop crying and board the ship, as they are about to set sail on Hachinosu to rescue Koby from the Blackbeard Pirates.
