One Million Moms Petition Disney To Ban 'Demonic' Animated Children’s Series

There might be a whole lot of strange petitions floating around the internet, but it looks like there's a new petition demanding that Disney cancel what conservative Christians call a "demonic" children's series.

One Million Moms, a conservative Christian activist group, has just recently turned its attention to Disney. According to the organization, the Mickey Mouse House's animated series The Owl House is a "demonic" show that is "yet another danger step into the darkness."

The activist group just recently launched a petition (via ComicBook.com) demanding that Disney cancel the animated fantasy comedy series, telling the House of Mouse that they do not sit with the show because they "do not agree with the demonic nature of The Owl House nor its theme of witchcraft."

Right now the petition sits at under 16,000 signatures from considered mothers and conservatives.

"In The Owl House, Disney introduces kids to a world of demons, witches, and sorcery while inundating their young minds with secular worldviews that reflect the current culture," the One Million Moms petition describes the show. "The show makes light of hell and the dangers of the demonic realm. Even the previews and commercials include such content that makes it difficult for families who watch Disney Channel avoid the evil content completely."

Of course, the regular description of the series is very different from One Million Mom's take on the show. The Owl House which premiered in January last year follows the story of a teenage girl who accidentally finds herself in a portal to another world – the Boiling Isles. In the Boiling Isles, this girl, Luz Noceda, finds herself befriending the witch Eda the Owl Lady. Though she has no magical abilities of her own, Luz is determined to become a witch, asking to become Eda's apprentice.
