Nintendo Confirms The Witcher 3 Is Headed to Switch

There's been a lot of great news from this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix dropped the very first trailer for its much-rumored game, Marvel's Avengers. Not only that, but Nintendo also made a big announcement during the 2019 E3. Apparently, the videogame company had decided to port another game for Nintendo Switch – The Witcher III: Wild Hunt Complete Edition.

According to Nintendo, The Witcher III is going to make its way to the company's hybrid console and is set to be available on Nintendo Switch sometime this year.

"The acclaimed open-world adventure and winner of over 250 Game of the Year awards, #TheWitcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition, comes to #NintendoSwitch! Take your steel and silver swords anywhere you want when the game launches in 2019," Nintendo wrote on a post on Twitter.

This is big news for gamers. There were rumors about The Witcher III heading over to Nintendo Switch before, but everyone wasn't sure whether the rumors were true. Gamers weren't quite certain that Switch could handle such a heavy game as The Witcher III.

It looks like the developer certainly believes it does because now the game is getting a version on Nintendo Switch. A trailer's been released for the game on Switch, one that shows a difference in quality. However, we doubt that that's going to stop hardcore fans from trying out the game on Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo will also include the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions in The Witcher III's pilgrimage to Switch.
