New Valorant Hypercar-Inspired Prime 2.0 Skins Are Coming, Include Karambit Melee, Phantom & More

Valorant's Prime weapon skins feature some of tactical shooter's coolest cosmetics, and another set is coming on Tuesday, March 2.

On Monday, Riot has revealed the new Prime 2.0 skins for other weapons not included in the first Prime skin line. The bundle, which will be available for in-store purchase on Tuesday, includes the Phantom, Bucky, Odin, Frenzy, and a Karambit-style melee. According to senior weapons artist Chris Stone, if the Prime 1.0 line was a luxury sportscar, Prime 2.0 has evolved to "hypercar".

"We took inspiration from many hypercar designs that you'd see in the Geneva Motor Show," Stone explained. "Specifically, the exhaust ports and FX interaction on the side of the guns was inspired by car exhaust backfire on high-end cars."

Stone went on to say that the developers wanted Prime 2.0 to feel "more aggressive" than its predecessor, so they added more "emissive elements" and "angular shapes" that go from the front to the back of the weapon.

The entire bundle will cost 7,100 VP, and it comes with two gun buddies, player card, and spray. For individual purchases, each gun will cost 1,775 VP and the melee costs 3,550 VP.

This isn't the first time Riot is adding to an already existing skin line in Valorant. Last month, the second Glitchpop was bundle was released, which includes weapon skins for the Vandal, Phantom, and Operator as well as an ax melee.

The Prime 2.0 weapon skin line will be available in the Valorant store starting Tuesday, March 2, 2021.
