Today, Riot Games has released a new VALORANT State of the Agents blog to share us a quick update about the next Agent, which is expected to be an Initiator type. The next VALORANT Agent is expected to be released about a month from now, but Riot hasn't fully revealed their abilities, appearance, and name. However, we've already seen clues that tease what the new Agent could do, and now, we have a new teaser that should fuel speculations within the game's community.
In this month's State of the Agents blog, VALORANT character producer John Goscicki talked about how the Characters team have been discussing about the Initiator role, specifically the Agent Sova, while noting that it takes 12-15 months to develop a new VALORANT Agent.
Gosciki also reveals that they've been focused on identifying unique gameplay differences within the realm of recon/info, and landed in a space that has more "localized Initiation and recon tools.
Here's the teaser for the next VALORANT Agent:
"This next Agent should give you a more…intimate feeling when hunting down enemies. Of course, there is our theme—but the thought of giving away too much frightens me so I’ll leave that out."
The teaser came with an image of a coffee cup with a unique logo, and as you can see below, it looks like the new Agent has been busy trying to hunt down other Agents.
Their laptop appears to show an Agent's profile while his wall shows various images with a photo of Cypher at the center. Could they have a connection to Cypher?
According to Valorleaks, the codename of the next VALORANT Agent is BountyHunter. However, Riot hasn't officially confirmed this yet.
Expect "Agent 20" to be added to the VALORANT roster a month from now, when the new Act launches.
