Mortal Kombat 11 is set to come out next month, and NetherRealm has been gradually making the reveals. Just in, we have a new story trailer, and it reveals more characters as well as explains a bit about the plot.
What's interesting is, the trailer kind of explains why we see two Scorpions in the reveal teaser—there's going to be time travel involved, and we get to have characters meet their younger selves in the game.
I have to say, this is an interesting way of connecting both the classic characters with the new ones, plus we get a bit of a nostalgia high, what with upgraded versions of the classic combatants. I never thought I would love seeing a younger and older Johnny Cage interact with each other.
What's also interesting is that the trailer gives us a look at some other characters that have yet to be revealed as playable. The last game also did the same thing by giving us cameo appearances by unplayable characters, so I guess we'll have to wait and see which fighters we can use even if they already appear in the trailers.
I think Liu Kang and Kung Lao are already safe bets, but I think Kotal Khan being playable is still up in the air.
Mortal Kombat 11 becomes available for PS4, PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on April 23.
