After several teasers that mainly consisted of character art, the new Pokemon anime finally got its first trailer and key visual that highlight the new protagonist and other principal characters.

A new Pokemon anime entry is always exciting for fans of the series, though this upcoming show is something that everyone is watching out for.

After all, this will be the first time ever that a mainline Pokemon anime will not star Ash Ketchum.

While many will certainly miss Ash, the new characters and region promise to make this show a worthy watch.

The upcoming preview video was shared via official Pokemon channels. While it starts as a simple sizzle reel, its second half shows off actual footage from the series.

One of its two new protagonists is the highlight of the trailer as the up-and-coming trainer, Liko, is shown multiple times.

The trailer reveals that Liko will be the trainer of the adorable Sprigatito, Scarlet & Violet’s Grass-type starter.

Aside from Liko, the trailer also shows off another upcoming character named Friede.

While there aren’t many details yet about Friede, what we do know is that he is the trainer of Captain Pikachu.

From the looks of it, Friede seems like the professor character in this new series. This is interesting because the professors in the games are different.

What’s also different is Captain Pikachu, and it’ll be interesting to see how he differs from Ash's iconic electric mouse.

In the background are other iconic Pokemon, including the likes of Chansey, Metagross, Elekid, and more. Plus, Friede can also be seen riding a Charizard.

New info about the show’s voice cast was also shared. Specifically, Minori Suzuki (Sera in Black Summoner) and Yuka Terasaki (Chidori in Kiznaiver) will voice Liko and Roy, respectively.

Meanwhile, Friede will be voiced by Taku Yashiro (Gugu in To Your Eternity) while iconic Pikachu VA Ikue Ootani returns as Captain Pikachu.
