New Marvel's Avengers Character Teaser Puts the Spotlight on Captain America

Marvel's Avengers went from being a mildly disappointing reveal to a fun-looking game that many of us want to play immediately. Crystal Dynamics was able to pull a full 180 on our perception of the game, though some of the character models and costumes could be better. Square Enix realizes how hyped up fans are for this game since they are now releasing some character-specific trailers, putting a solo spotlight on these heroes.

The first of these trailers focus on Captain America, pretty much confirming that he will end up surviving the prologue's events. We see Cap beat the crap out of A.I.M. agents, which is always fun to see. Combat continues to look visceral and Cap looks like a one-man army taking on these goons.

Sadly, we don't get to see some of the alternate costumes for Captain America. We already know that his chainmail armor will be appearing, along with a possible alternate attire that puts Sam Wilson in the Captain America outfit. Hopefully, they unveil more outfits that make Cap look cool since the shoulder pads don't make him look too cool.

As someone who enjoyed Sega's Captain America: The First Avenger on PS3, seeing the gameplay made this writer a very happy camper. Here's hoping that we get more of these gameplay videos. On a side note, it's great seeing some action that doesn't take place during A-Day.

Marvel's Avengers is coming to PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia on May 15, 2020.
