November is finally here, which means in a few weeks, we'll get to return to Arendelle with Elsa and Anna in Frozen II. Pre-order tickets are currently available, and Disney has released a new teaser for the film which includes some new shots.
While we do get some callbacks to the first film, we also have more of an emphasis when it comes to the relationship between Anna and Elsa. Though the franchise does like to delve into the relationship between the two, I always felt that their "bond" as sisters is kind of inauthentic, seeing as Elsa had spent most of their lives shutting Anna out. Though I understand the sentiment that the first film was trying to make, I was never really convinced about the so-called "love" that the two had for each other.
Hopefully, this sequel will address those issues, but I'm also fine with them just pushing forward and reinforcing the bond between both sisters. Though the teasers do have some scenes hinting that Elsa will be along again, I would love for the two to have some real "bonding" moments onscreen. Then again, that's just wishful thinking on my part.
Why was Elsa born with magical powers? What truths about the past await Elsa as she ventures into the unknown to the enchanted forests and dark seas beyond Arendelle? The answers are calling her but also threatening her kingdom. Together with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven, she'll face a dangerous but remarkable journey.
Frozen II is set to come out on Nov. 22.
