The official One Piece Twitter account shared the new key visual for the Netflix show. It features the front view of the Going Merry as it is set to appear in the series.
It's an exciting tease at what to expect in the upcoming live-action show. After all, the Going Merry is more than just the Straw Hats' first ship. She's also an important part of the crew. Needless to say, seeing the Going Merry is an awesome surprise.
For now, we're glad to finally get a clear look at Going Merry. Hopefully, fans will also get a better glimpse at the rest of the Straw Hats soon.
Fans are not the only ones who are thrilled about Going Merry. Mackenyu, who will play Roronoa Zoro in the Netflix series, previously admitted that he was overwhelmed to see the ship in real life.
"When I stepped aboard the Going Merry, I can’t wait to show it off to all my friends," Mackenyu admitted with a laugh. "It was awesome and hopefully it'll be a special experience for the fans."
"We brought One Piece to life and we hope you'll enjoy it too," he added.
One Piece will also star Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Vinsmoke Sanji. The first season of the series is expected to adapt the first chapters of Eiichiro Oda's famous manga.
For now, One Piece has not yet been given an official release date but is already expected to premiere on Netflix in 2023.
