Netflix found a great deal of success with its science-fiction and fantasy offerings like The Witcher, Stranger Things, and now, Fate: The Winx Saga. And although they already have The Umbrella Academy on their catalog, surprisingly enough, we've yet to truly see the streaming service take on a proper superhero project that isn't as mainstream as their Marvel shows.
Now, they're once again cashing in on the popularity of the comic book and superhero genre as the streaming service is set to premiere the live-action adaptation of Jupiter's Legacy. The said project is based on the 2013 comic book series created by Mark Millar and Frank Quitely and published by Image Comics.
Jupiter's Legacy revolves around the adventures of the world's first superheroes who received their powers in the 1930s. The said heroes would be revered as the elder guards of the present day but their superpowered offsprings will struggle to live up to their respective legacies.
We still know very little about the project which was first announced to be in development in 2018 but so far, actors like Josh Duhamel, Ben Daniels, Leslie Bibb, Elena Kampouris, Andrew Horton, Mike Wade, and Matt Lanter would be starring in the series.
Netflix unveiled a 30-second teaser to hype up the arrival of the series and it begins with an epic voiceover stating: "One day you're gonna be stronger than anyone else in the world. Every evil you can imagine is gonna rise up against mankind. Not for justice... for vengeance. And you're gonna be the future."
The show's official logo then emerges with the grand reveal that Jupiter's Legacy will officially begin streaming on May 7, 2021. Check it out here:
