From the beloved video game franchise, a new and exciting update just dropped for Netflix's feature film adaptation BioShock as the movie just landed the Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence to oversee the movie and Logan scribe Michael Green to write the script.

In February 2022, Netflix proudly announced that the streaming platform will be adapting the BioShock franchise to a feature film working with Vertigo Entertainment and Take-Two Interactive with its subsidiary 2K. A new updated just arrived as the movie found its director and writer.

Deadline reported that Netflix tapped two of the most important people that would be involved in the BioShock film adaptation with Francis Lawrence from Hunger Games to direct the movie and Michael Green from Green Lantern and Logan to adapt the script.

Nothing but A-list directors and writers are to be included in the much anticipated adaptation of the famous video game franchise. With Lawrence and Green sitting opposite each other to ensure the film's quality, the BioShock movie is expected to be a spectacle.

Francis Lawrence is known for his work on the Hunger Games franchise after the departure of Gary Ross from the first film. Lawrence will be back to the directors chair for the franchise's prequel, Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes which is currently underway and set to release in 2023.

Michael Green is a highly-acclaimed writer with an Academy Award nomination under his belt for co-writing Logan with James Mangold and Scott Frank. Green also worked with films such as Green Lantern, Alien: Covenant, Blade Runner 2049, Murder on the Orient Express, and Death on the Nile.

BioShock is a first-person shooting game under 2K games set in 1960 following Jack who found Rapture, an underwater city built by Andrew Ryan. Jack fights his way through the isolated utopia to escape.

There is no release date yet for Netflix's BioShock movie.
