Neil Gaiman Sheds Light On The Sandman Season 2 Amid ‘Streaming War’: “It’s Real”

Neil Gaiman is not the type to back down when it comes to protecting his creative works, especially when it came to backlash against their decision towards their casting for The Sandman. Surely enough, not even if it is up against Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav on the issue of sparking a ‘streaming war’ between Warner Bros. and Netflix.

Amid the possibility of The Sandman Season 2 causing a ‘streaming war’ for Warner Bros., seeing as it is based off of graphic novels owned by DC but it is also streaming on Netflix along with other DC films, Neil Gaiman responds on Twitter to a fan panicking that the second season may be in jeopardy because of Zaslav’s statement. Check out Gaiman’s tweet below:

Deadline previously reported that Zaslav is unsatisfied with how Netflix pays for producers (since Warner Bros. Discovery produces The Sandman for Netflix). However, with the author of the series himself speaking for his work, Gaiman reassures the show fans that it is being taken care of.

Aside from that, The Sandman Season 2 will be introducing a new character: Delirium, which Gaiman recently teased the character reveal during Brazil’s 2022 Comic Con Experience (via Total Film), among many others they plan to add as the series goes on.

“We have more members of the Endless coming, including the youngest member of the Endless. Don’t tell anybody, but it’s Delirium. There will be butterflies, there will be balloons, there will be magic, there will be chicken and telephone-flavored ice-cream. It’s all coming for you.”

The Sandman Season 2 has no release date yet, but The Sandman Season 1 is available to stream on Netflix.
