Fans of the hit crime drama NCIS have been eagerly anticipating the return of Michael Weatherly as Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo. However, negotiations for his comeback have hit a snag due to the actor's excessive demands.
One of the major sticking points is Weatherly's desire to bring back two NCIS fan favorites - Cote de Pablo as Ziva David and Robert Wagner.
Despite the producers' desire to have Weatherly back on the show, the negotiations for his return are not going as planned.

Weatherly's Demands for NCIS Comeback
According to Radar Online, Weatherly's demands have become too much for the executives to meet. This could threaten his own comeback as the bosses are tearing their hair out over his terms.
Weatherly reportedly wants to see Cote de Pablo back on the show as Ziva David. He also wants Robert Wagner to make a comeback. However, the executives are not on board with these demands.
Weatherly has been very vocal about his desire to return to NCIS since the day he left the show back in 2016 after 13 seasons. He believes in the franchise of NCIS very much and would be open to anything and everything, including things that no one's even thought of yet.

The Fans' Desire
Fans would love to see Weatherly back as Tony DiNozzo, and pairing him up with Cote de Pablo as Ziva David would make sense. After de Pablo's return in 2019, viewers wondered if Tony and Ziva would get screen time together. Weatherly stoked the rumors by posting a video for his co-star with a fan of the show.
While it seems like it will only be a matter of time before Weatherly returns to NCIS, negotiations for his return need to be resolved soon. The actor's excessive demands, particularly his desire to bring back fan-favorite cast members, threaten his comeback.
Nevertheless, fans remain hopeful that Weatherly will be back on the show as Special Agent DiNozzo.
