My Hero Academia Creator Discusses Series' Length, When it Will End

My Hero Academia is currently one of the most popular shonen franchises out there, mixing the love everyone has for superheroes with some great characters and a few tropes from anime and manga. Thanks to a quick pace, interesting supporting cast, and a relatable protagonist in Izuku Midoriya, the series has managed to reach new heights and is arguably what Naruto and Dragon Ball was to a new generation.

Because the anime and manga are so eventful, fans have wondered if there is an end in sight for the series. Kohei Horikoshi, the creator of the acclaimed series, recently had an interview regarding the subject and revealed that he was originally going to end the series at vol. 30 (the manga is currently past vol. 15).

That was the original plan however but it seems like those have changed drastically. Thanks to a fan translation from an interview, Horikoshi has stated that the current arc will play a big part in the finale but that won't be coming anytime soon. Horikoshi said that he needs to do a lot of set-ups if he wants to end the series as intended on Vol. 30.

Currently, My Hero Academia can be streamed on Crunchyroll. The anime is on its third season and a movie is coming out soon, set between season 2 and 3.
