The hype is getting more and more intense as Mortal Kombat arrives in a week. A new featurette of Mortal Kombat released teases what is in store for the upcoming film reboot and no, it will not be tamed, as the fight scenes are shockingly violent and bloody.
In the new featurette, we get to see the characters of Mortal Kombat doing their scenes which really proves how all of them prepared for this film physically as shared by Jessica McNamee's Sonya Blade and Josh Lawson's Kano to EpicStream.
The featurette also shows some scenes of the game and their film counterparts. We also get to meet the Kast and the director of the film, Simon McQuoid, with their thoughts about the upcoming film. In the video, the director describes that the fight scenes are "sickeningly violent," and he shares that the film would not be amazing without the actors playing their respective roles, praising them for their preparations.

The Kast also shares their insights on the film. Lewis Tan playing Cole Young describes, "martial arts is similar to acting because it's all about expression. Ludi Lin who portrays Liu Kang says, "there's so much fighting in this movie" and he proceeds that after shooting one sequence, they would have to practice for the other fight scenes.
Director McQuoid also praised Joe Taslim portraying Bi-Han/ Sub-Zero for being faster than everyone else, he becomes too fast that co-actor Mechad Brooks playing Jax said he asked him to slow it down, even comparing the great Bruce Lee. Taslim shared in the same featurette the difference between drama and fight scenes and how, despite having no lines in fight scenes, the emotion translates into lines.
Mortal Kombat 2021 showcases a star-studded line-up with Lewis Tan as Cole Young, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Josh Lawson as Kano, Mechad Brooks as Jax, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Hiroyuki Sanasa as Hanzo Hasashi/ Scorpion and Joe Taslim as Bi-Han/ Sub-Zero. Also joining the cast would be Sisi Stringer as Mileena, Max Huang as Kung Lao, Matilda Kimber as Emily Young, and Laura Brent as Allison Young.
Mortal Kombat is set to release in theaters and on HBO Max this coming April 23, 2021. It is given an R-Rating.
