People are already hyped up for the new Mortal Kombat movie but we have yet to see any footage from the highly anticipated video game adaptation. Luckily, New Line Cinema has just confirmed that the first trailer for the film is coming in February.

The official New Line Cinema Instagram account recently shared the official images from the Mortal Kombat movie. Not surprisingly, fans were excited about the photos but also wondered when the first trailer will be released.

Interestingly, the official account responded to a fan comment about the trailer's release date. Although the exact date was not revealed, New Line Cinema did confirm that the first teaser will be dropped in February.

This is great news considering that the Mortal Kombat film is only a few months away from its premiere. Luckily, we'll finally get to see whether the reboot stands up to the hype and if those fatalities will be depicted as, well, fatal.

Fans have been understandably concerned about how the Mortal Kombat movie will interpret the bloody fatalities in the video games. However, director Simon McQuoid assures that the new adaptation will not hold back on the blood and gore.

The Mortal Kombat film stars Lewis Tan as Cole Young, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Josh Lawson as Kano, Tadanobu Asano as Raiden, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero, and Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion.

Mortal Kombat will be released in selected theaters and on HBO Max on April 16.
