Mortal Kombat Movie: Lewis Tan Offers First Look At Film's New Logo

Filming for the highly anticipated Mortal Kombat movie is finally underway and Lewis Tan has just shared our first look at the new logo for the film.

Tan, who was previously cast in an undisclosed role, shared the photo on his official Instagram account. Although the image only features the clapperboard for the movie, it also happens to show the awesome MK logo. Check it out below.

"First blood... It has begun," Tan wrote, adding the hashtag #MortalKombat. Interestingly, the caption is quite fitting because there are actual drops of blood in the picture. We're not sure whose blood that is, but we're hoping it doesn't involve a fatality so early on in filming.

There's a good reason why fans are going crazy about the Mortal Kombat movie. Although the film will be directed by relative newcomer Simon McQuoid, it will be produced by horror legend James Wan. So, yes, I guess we're expecting fatalities here.

Mortal Kombat will star Joe Taslim (The Raid) as Sub-Zero, Ludi Lin (Black Mirror) as Liu Kang, Mehcad Brooks (Supergirl) as Jax, Tadanobu Asano (Thor: Ragnarok) as Raiden, newcomer Sisi Stringer as Mileena, Jessica McNamee (The Meg) as Sonya Blade and Josh Lawson (House of Lies) as Kano. Additionally, Chin Han (Marco Polo) will play Shang Tsung, Hiroyuki Sanada (Avengers: Endgame) was cast as Scorpion and stuntman Max Huang was confirmed as Kung Lao. That's a cast to look forward to in action.

The film is currently in production in Adelaide. It is then scheduled for release on March 5, 2021.
