Mortal Kombat 2 Reportedly Casts Karl Urban as Johnny Cage


Karl Urban could be joining the fight against Outworld. A new report suggests that the star of The Boys has been cast as Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat 2!

According to The Wrap, Karl Urban is currently in final talks to appear in Mortal Kombat 2. Interestingly, the report confirms that Urban will be playing Johnny Cage in the sequel if a deal is made.

But what are the chances that this is happening? Film producer Todd Garner is fanning the hype by sharing the casting news on Twitter.

For now, it has not yet been officially confirmed whether Karl Urban is in negotiations to appear in Mortal Kombat 2. However, fans are already looking forward to an official announcement soon.

The arrival of Johnny Cage shouldn't be a huge surprise. After all, the first film already teased that the Mortal Kombat character will be one of the major players in the sequel.

As the movie came to an end, Cole Young confirms he is leaving for Los Angeles and that he is planning to recruit Johnny Cage to join the warriors of Earthrealm.

Although it hasn't been confirmed, fans are happy to know that Johnny Cage could be played by a truly versatile actor. Karl Urban has already proven he can handle action sequences and we all know he has that infectious charm that's hard to hate. With that in mind, we can't wait to get an update on Mortal Kombat 2.

The second Mortal Kombat film is expected to bring back Simon McQuoid to direct. Lewis Tan, Jessica McNamee, Tadanobu Asano, Mehcad Brooks, Ludi Lin, Chin Han, Joe Taslim, and Hiroyuki Sanada are also expected to return for the sequel.
