Mortal Kombat 11 Reveals New Character Cetrion, Elder God of Nature and Life

NetherRealm has spent the past few weeks confirming playable characters for Mortal Kombat 11, and though a lot of the reveals focused on classic characters coming back, we have a new reveal trailer for Cetrion.

Interestingly, Cetrion in the lore is pretty much like Raiden in a sense that she's an Elder God as well. Unlike Raiden who controls only thunder, Cetrion looks to have complete skill set of the Avatar as she is the Elder God of Nature and Life—meaning she can control water, fire, air, and earth. She is also said to be the sibling of villain Shinnok and is the daughter of the game's new antagonist Kronika, the Keeper of Time.

With Kronika basically seeking revenge on Raiden for torturing her son Shinnok, I'm guessing Cetrion will come out as one of her "goons" to take down the Thunder God-turned villain.

Based on what we see from the clips, it looks like Cetrion will have mostly ranged abilities with the player opting to have the enemies far away from her. Then again, this new customization system for MK will likely give players the chance to edit the way Cetrion fights based on their own personal preference.

Mortal Kombat 11 is set to come out by the end of the month, and I'm guessing the last character to have a reveal trailer will be main antagonist Kronika. Hopefully the game also confirms some more classic characters that some fans have been waiting for.

Catch Mortal Kombat 11 when it becomes available for Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch on April 23.
