Moon Knight Actor Oscar Isaac Cast as Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid Movie

Oscar Isaac is definitely on a roll this year. It has only been a little over two months since the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker actor was reportedly cast in Moon Knight and now it looks like he has landed another major role. A new report claims that Isaac will portray Solid Snake in the live-action adaptation of Metal Gear Solid.

According to Deadline, several sources have confirmed that Isaac has signed on to play Solid Snake in Jordan Vogt-Roberts' adaptation of the Konami video game. The project is still in development with Derek Connolly confirmed to pen the screenplay and Avi Arad producing. Peter Kang is also set to serve as executive producer on the film.

This might be a surprise for some but the idea of Isaac playing Snake isn't a new one. Digital artist Bosslogic had created fan art imagining the Dune star as the video game protagonist back in 2018 and was quick to celebrate the casting by sharing the Isaac-approved art all over again.

For now, it is unclear when Isaac will begin working on the Metal Gear Solid movie. After all, he is still expected to film for Moon Knight by next year. In addition to that, it is important to point out that Sony Pictures has not yet confirmed the casting. With that in mind, it's best to take it with a grain of salt.

If Metal Gear Solid does begin production by next year, fans can expect to see a lot of Isaac in 2021. In addition to playing Marc Spector in Marvel and Disney+'s Moon Knight series, Isaac is set to appear as Duke Leto Atreides in Dune.
