Mental Coach Jegal Episode 5 Recap

Korea's short-track speed skating team only needs five players, and Cha Ga Eul must beat one of the players to make it to the cut. Meanwhile, Jegal Gil, as the new mental coach of the national team, chooses to work on Lee Moo Kyeol, who is now at the center of a doping scandal.

While on his way out, he spots someone wearing a Team Korea jacket — the same jacket the person in his dream is wearing when they committed suicide. He then seeks Park Seung Ha's help, asking her if the premonitions can come true.

Lee Moo Kyeol's issue already reaches Athletic Association's Jung Chang Sik due to the video Goo Tae Man acquired from Jegal Gil. Meanwhile, the swimmer confronts Han Yeo Woon and asks her whether she is the one who spread the doping scandal. CEO Kang also meets him to ask him about the scandal, but he seemingly suffers an episode during the conversation. He also denies the rumors.

He ends up taking more drugs to calm himself. Jegal Gil also tries helping him for the first time by throwing away the drugs.

Jegal Gil also asks her about her relationship with Lee Moo Kyeol, but she refuses to answer. He then gives her some advice, but it turns out that Coach Oh Dal Sung has been eavesdropping.

The next day, KADA visits the training center, alarming Han Yeo Woon as the staff searches for Lee Moo Kyeol. Jegal Gil helps them to capture him so they can do the doping tests. The No Medal Club then talks about Goo Tae Man, saying that he is the one who reported the athlete to KADA.

But instead of drugs, the athlete has been taking Inderal for his panic disorders. But Jegal Gil believes he has yips.

Go Young To, on the other hand, tells Coach Oh Dal Sung to stop harassing Cha Ga Eul. Unfortunately, the events backfire again.

The end of the episode shows Jegal Gil feeling anxious again after seeing Cha Ga Eul's band-aid, which is the same one the person in his dream is wearing.
