Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's attendance at King Charles' coronation is still not certain. However, many believed that the Duchess of Sussex wouldn't miss it.
Meghan Markle Will Attend King Charles' Coronation Despite Archie Celebrating His 4th Birthday?
The Palace raised eyebrows when it announced that King Charles' coronation would be on May 6, 2023, because it falls on his grandson Archie's 4th birthday. However, the firm has a reason and a number of considerations why they chose the said date.
Royal biographer Angela Levin, author of Prince Harry's biography Harry: Biography of a Prince, was among those who believed that the former actress would attend the coronation. Levin said that Markle could excuse herself because it's her son's birthday, but chances are high that she would be there.
"They could say that she was staying at home for the birthday," Levin explained to TalkTV, Express reported. "However, if anybody could make any judgement about Meghan, the chance of wearing a snazzy tiara would go down very well."
"Because nobody's quite so interested in them any more, but people feel that they are to be counted. So she's there with a glittery tiara, I think she'd love it - never mind the kid's birthday."
Another insider echoed the same sentiment with New Idea. The source believed that Markle wanted to be part of the event for exposure.
"Meghan knows that without their royal ties, they become less valuable," the insider claimed.
"She wants the world's eyes on them as they stand shoulder to shoulder with the King."
Will Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Attend King Charles' Coronation?
There are conflicting reports about their attendance. One report from Daily Mail claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are still "undecided" whether or not they would fly to the United Kingdom for the event.
The duo sparked intense drama between them and the members of the royal family after they dropped their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan in December 2022 and his memoir Spare in January.
However, another report from the same outlet quoted a friend of the royals who said that the Sussexes are coming and the royal family is expecting them.

"Members of the family have told me that both Harry and Meghan will definitely come. They fully expect that," the anonymous source said. "And they should realise that there is only one subject that many members of the Royal Family will be willing to discuss… and that's the weather."
