Meghan Markle is not joining Prince Harry at King Charles' coronation next month. However, a royal pundit claimed that she actually wanted to attend the event but was advised against it.

Meghan Markle Reportedly Wants To Attend King Charles' Coronation

British socialite and royal author Lady Colin Campbell appeared on GB News, discussing the former actress's decision to skip the coronation. According to her, Markle wanted to flaunt herself, but her demands were blocked.

Campbell said on GB News:

"Well, I'll tell you what it tells me, and I've spoken to people who know them very well. It tells me, and I'm just gonna speak for myself, that she was very nervous. She actually did want to come, but she was blocked at every turn with all of her demands."

She continued:

"She was hoping to flaunt herself, and she was blocked at every turn, and she took the decision upon the advice of her advisors, her money-making advisors, that if she came, she would have to diminish her brand even further than it has already been diminished and she and Harry are in big trouble as a brand."

The author of Meghan and Harry: The Real Story claimed that the Sussexes as a brand are struggling. They reportedly lost supporters in the U.S., and prominent people, including those from the Democratic party, no longer want to work with them. So, Markle couldn't take the risk of diminishing her brand further.

"You know, if she came, it was going to affect the brand adversely because her own popularity, which can be massaged or at least slightly ignored if she doesn't come, would have been so apparent."

Meghan Markle Will Reportedly Be Seated At The Bleachers

Campbell also touched on the seating arrangement. According to her, if Markle attended the event, she would be seated on bleachers, adversely affecting her brand.

Campbell said:

"And also her loss of stature because one of the big quibbles was where they would be seated and she was going to be seated in the bleachers, so to speak. And, of course, a star of Meghan's magnitude, you know I'm fabulous, I was a star of snoops, can you imagine in the bleachers."

Former BBC journalist Tom Bower also echoed the same sentiment as Campbell regarding the seating arrangement. According to him, their seats were a few rows away from the senior royals.

Bower told Page Six:

"They made sure that she wasn't going to come by making sure that she was told she'd have to curtsy three times, that she wouldn't be in the spotlight, that she wouldn't play any part in the whole thing and that if she came, they'd be put in row 54 in the back behind the column."

Do you agree that Meghan Markle doesn't want to diminish her brand by accepting the royal family's condition?
