The Palace is determined to convince Prince Harry to attend King Charles' coronation. However, Meghan Markle reportedly felt that they were only after her husband and not really interested in persuading her to be present at the same event.
Meghan Markle Feeling Excluded From King Charles' Coronation?
There are rumors that the Duchess of Sussex isn't thrilled about the Palace's effort in having them attend the coronation because she reportedly felt that they were only after Prince Harry's attendance. Royal expert, Kinsey Schofield, the host of To Di For Daily podcast, confirmed on GB News that she heard about the rumors.
Here's what Schofield said when host Isabel Webster asked her about the rumors that Markle was feeling left out and "excluded" from King Charles' coronation.
"That's right. You know, reports are that Meghan is feeling like the palace is really only trying to persuade Harry to come and that Meghan is not a priority. And that makes her very unhappy."
The R is for Revenge author claimed that Markle wanted to be persuaded to attend the event too, just like their efforts in convincing her husband because she reportedly felt that "they're a unit."
Schofield continued:
"She believes they are a unit and that it should be both of them that are wanted and the palace should be eager to have them both come. But allegedly, the palace really is only trying to persuade Harry that's their goal."
Will Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Attend The Coronation?
It remains unclear whether or not Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will attend His Majesty's coronation. King Charles reportedly wanted them around. However, American journalist Christopher Andersen told Express that they might "opt out."
Prince Harry and Markle were reportedly unhappy with the way they were treated during Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee celebration last year. The public was also not very welcoming as they were booed when they left St. Paul's Cathedral following the National Service of Thanksgiving in honor of the Queen.
He said this about the couple:
"It's increasingly beginning to look as if Harry and Meghan might well opt out of the Coronation."
Andersen mentioned Prince Harry's security concerns. The Duke of Sussex's security was removed after he stepped back from his royal duties, and he previously said that he didn't feel safe taking his family to his home country without security.
Aside from that, the Sussexes might not be over with the humiliations they endured last year at the Queen's funeral when they were not invited to the grand state reception, which is exclusive to working royals only. Andersen added:
"Harry and Megan are still licking their wounds over having been sidelined during the Queen's funeral. It's highly doubtful that they would be willing to face the prospect of that sort of public humiliation again, particularly on Archie's birthday."
