Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's popularity has continued to drop after their latest attacks against the royal family. One expert weighed in on the matter and shared why many didn't like the Duchess of Sussex.

What's In Meghan Markle That People Don't Like?

Dr. Lillian Glass, a human behavior expert and author of Toxic People: 10 Ways of Dealing With People Who Make Your Life Miserable, spoke about some American people's feelings toward the former actress. According to Glass, Prince Harry's wife might not get through to some people due to her behavior.

"It's in the tone of her voice, her body language, there's nothing genuine there," Glass told Express.

"She's very phony, she's contrived, she's very overdramatic. The way she pauses when she speaks. The way she showed how she bowed for Queen."

In the Sussexes' Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, Markle showed how she curtsy to Queen Elizabeth during their first meeting and performed an exaggerated bow in front of the camera, which many found disrespectful.

Glass also noted Marke's habit of constantly looking at the camera with a "toothy smile when nobody else in the photographs or the videos is smiling." The expert said some people are affected by such behaviors.

"It's human behavior, and having studied human behavior for four decades, I can tell you that people are so sensitive to that kind of thing," the expert added.

While Markle's habit of looking at the camera might be annoying to some, body language expert Inbaal Honigman said it demonstrates how "fearless" Markle is. Also, she told Express that staring directly at the camera is a natural extension of Markle's habit of maintaining eye contact with people whenever she talks to them. Direct eye contact shows one is attentive and happy to listen.

"It's a mark of honesty and interest. When people look directly at their conversation partner, they are seen as more sociable and authentic. By the same token, looking directly at the camera makes Meghan appear more focused and involved. Eye contact can make some people feel uneasy because it's a show of confidence and fearlessness. Not everyone likes confident people."
