Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been married for three years already. The pair announced their engagement in 2017 and new details about her bling emerged.

Meghan Markle's Engagement Ring Is Significant For Her, Prince Harry

Meghan Markle owns one of the most expensive engagement rings in the royal family. Nilesh Rakholia, the Director at ABELINI Jewellery, weighed in on the ring she received from Prince Harry when he popped the big question to her.

Prince Harry designed the engagement ring, himself. According to Rakholia, the engagement ring was significant the royal couple.

"This royal engagement ring is steeped in significance for the couple, with every element deliberately chosen," Rakholia told Express. "A three-carat cushion cut diamond takes centre stage on the Duchess of Sussex’s engagement ring, surrounded by two other diamonds set on a yellow gold band."

She also noted how the center diamond was sourced from Botswana, which is a place close to Prince Harry's heart. The two other diamonds came from his mom Princess Diana's collection. The addition of that item was Prince Harry's tribute to his mom.

"Representing a rich history, it is only fitting that the wearer of a cushion-cut diamond isn’t afraid to look back to the past when moving forward," she continued. "The cut of this diamond also creates a kaleidoscopic look when hit with light, representing the unique and complicated nature of the person who wears it."

What Did Prince Harry Say About The Ring He Gave To Meghan Markle

The Duke of Sussex also spoke about the ring following the engagement. According to Prince Harry, he chose the color yellow gold because it's his wife's favorite.

He also admitted that main stone was from Botswana and the little diamonds on the side were from Princess Diana's collection to make sure that the late Princess of Wales was "with us on this crazy journey together."

Markle's incredible 5-carat gem is thought to be worth £134,500.

"It was so sweet and natural and very romantic. He got down on one knee," Markle said (via CNN). "As a matter of fact, I could barely let you finish proposing. I said, 'Can I say yes now?'"

"There was hugs and I had the ring on my finger. I was like, 'Can I give you the ring?' She goes, 'Oh, yes! The ring!'" Prince Harry added.
