Meghan Markle has been receiving criticisms from her own father, Thomas Markle Sr. for over two years now. The father and daughter used to be very close, but their relationship turned sour shortly after Prince Harry and Markle got engaged. The couple found out that Thomas posed for fake photographs ahead of their royal wedding, and this did not sit well with them. Thomas also ended up not attending Prince Harry and Markle’s nuptials because he just suffered a stroke weeks earlier.
But throughout the past two years, Thomas has been urging Meghan Markle to speak to him again. However, his requests have fallen on deaf ears. On the contrary, there are also several instances wherein Thomas lambasts his daughter during his interviews and this just happened again.
Thomas Markle Slams Prince Harry, Meghan Markle For Skipping Prince Philip’s Memorial Service
On his YouTube channel, Thomas weighed in on Prince Harry and Markle’s decision to skip Prince Philip’s memorial service. He said that the couple had no reason not to be there and what they did was a slap on the face to Queen Elizabeth.
“Attending and giving respect and God's grace to Prince Philip for a lifetime of service was very important to the Queen. And for them to not show up was like a slap in the face to the Queen. It was unforgivable. The British people won't forgive them for that, and they shouldn't. I don't know what the reason was, but there's no excuse at all. It's a slap in the face for the Queen and the British people,” Thomas said.

Meghan Markle’s Dad Criticized For Continuously Attacking His Daughter
Even though a lot of people also slammed Prince Harry and Markle for their decision to skip the memorial service, some were forced to take the Duchess of Sussex’s side over Thomas. After all, they couldn’t believe that a father would say such harsh things about his own flesh and flood during an interview.
On Twitter, some of them lashed out at Thomas.
“Thomas Markle now slaughtering his own daughter on his own YouTube channel, wonders why she wants nothing to do with him,” one Twitter user wrote (via Express).
“If I did this to my own little girl… I'd be ashamed of myself. I adore her - why would I ever do that,” another royal fan said.
“What’s unforgivable and a slap In the face is what Thomas Markle is doing when you think at some point as a father he would just shut his mouth,” a third Markle supporter added.
Thomas Markle Talks About Meghan Markle On His YouTube Channel
Thomas also talked about Markle on his YouTube channel last month and said that he blocked the doctor from listing her as Black on her birth certificate. Instead, Thomas wanted the Duchess of Sussex to be listed as mixed race.
“I even had to argue with the doctor, and have him write that she was mixed on the birth certificate, because he wanted to mark down 'Black.’ I had no problem with Black or white, but in my mind, it should have been mixed,” Thomas said (via Insider).
Markle has also been very particular with identifying her race. In 2016, she revealed that her seventh-grade English teacher asked them to identify their ethnicity and told them that they could only check one of the boxes. But Prince Harry’s wife argued that she’s mixed race.
“You could only choose one, but that would be to choose one parent over the other — and one half of myself over the other [...] I didn't tick a box. I left my identity blank — a question mark, an absolute incomplete — much like how I felt. When I went home that night, I told my dad what had happened. He said the words that have always stayed with me: 'If that happens again, you draw your own box,” Markle wrote.
