Meghan Markle has inconsistent statements about her knowledge of the royal family, according to a report. She allegedly claimed she didn't know about the British royals before she met Prince Harry in 2016, but a resurfaced blog entry revealed otherwise.

Meghan Markle Reportedly Wants To Be Her Sister-In-Law Kate Middleton

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex sparked a second tell-all when they were photographed reportedly visiting Oprah Winfrey over the weekend. In their bombshell interview with Winfrey last year, Meghan Markle said she did not research the royals before she wed Prince Harry and implied she had not much knowledge about them before she joined the firm.

"Thank God I didn’t know a lot about the family. Thank God I hadn’t researched. I would’ve been so in my head about it," Markle said as quoted by Express.

However, an unearthed post on her defunct blog, The Tig, suggested that she may have known about the royal family. The outlet noted that in 2014, two years before she met Prince Harry on a blind date, she blogged about Prince William and Kate Middleton's royal wedding. In the entry, she revealed that she wanted to be a princess like Middleton.

"Little girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power," Markle wrote. "And grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate."

Reactions To Meghan Markle's Statements

In an episode of the Pod Save the Queen podcast in February, Zoe Forsey, an online feature editor at the Daily Mirror, recounted Meghan Markle's blog. She mentioned her favorite entry, and it was Markle's blog about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's royal wedding.

"It was a really popular blog post. My favourite blog post was when she blogged about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding having watched it as a non-royal," Forsey said.

"But didn't know anything about the Royal Family or who they were or who Prince Harry was," royal editor Russell Myers interjected. "I mean, come on."

According to Express, there was also an old photograph of Markle holding a magazine with Middleton on the cover. The throwback picture brought further questions about her knowledge of the royal family.

Markle's estranged half-brother Thomas Markle Jr. also claimed that she wanted to be like Prince Harry's late mother, Princess Diana.

"I've read that Meg wants to be like Diana. Diana was worshipped by everyone in the world. She was loved for the right reasons," Thomas Jr. said, per Express. "That's what Meg wants, but I don't think that's going to happen. She's not genuine like Diana."
