The royal family has to follow protocol during engagements. The most significant royals are to arrive last. So, when Prince William and Kate Middleton walked their way to their seats inside the St. Paul's Cathedral for the National Service of Thanksgiving in honor of Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were already in their seats.
However, Markle was caught on camera looking in the opposite direction when Middleton passed by her. Several netizens immediately speculated that there was a drama between the two duchesses.
According to Radar Online, Markle snubbed Middleton when she turned away and looked in another direction when the future queen consort walked passed her. The Duchess of Sussex also allegedly avoided eye contact based on the viral video.
Irish Mirror also captured some reactions from the netizens on Twitter talking about the same issue. According to them, it was noticeable how Markle turned her head in another direction when Middleton was about to pass her.
"Did everyone notice the woman in white hat (Meghan) turned her head to the left when The Duchess of Cambridge was walking past," one tweeted. "Yes, I did notice this," a different user commented. Another agreed, "It's very obvious too."
"Yes, I did notice this," wrote one, while another agreed, "It's very obvious too," a fourth person added.
"Did everyone notice the woman in white hat (Smegz)turned her head to the left when The Duchess of Cambridge was walking past.. haha she couldn’t stand the sight of the future Queen," a different user opined.
How's Meghan Markle And Prince Harry's Relationship With Kate Middleton And Prince William
According to several reports, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attempted to extend an olive branch to Prince William and Kate Middleton. However, it didn't work. Several sources even said they didn't speak while Prince Harry and Markle were in the U.K.
"As far as I know, nobody believes they spoke [to one another]," royal biographer Christopher Andersen told Us Weekly.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex invited the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to their daughter Lilibet's first birthday Saturday. However, Prince William and Middleton were forced to reject it because they were set to visit Wales as part of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. Royal biographer Angela Levin blamed Prince Harry for not checking his brother's schedule.
"Allegedly, they asked Kate and William and the children to the party," Levin told The Sun. "They didn't take the trouble of finding out the Cambridges would be in Wales on the morning and coming back to get ready for the Jubilee concert in the afternoon, so they couldn't go."
Andersen added that there is still "a lot of tension" between the Cambridges and the Sussexes. In fact, Prince William and Middleton reportedly didn't introduce their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, to their cousin, Lilibet.
