How Did Meghan Markle Broke Royal Family’s Tradition With Baby Announcement?
It was last year when Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced that they were expecting their second baby together. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, alongside a heartfelt note, announced the good news by sharing a black-and-white portrait, wherein the couple could be seen laying on their lawn.
At the time, a spokesperson for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stated:
“We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child."
Interestingly, the pregnancy announcement of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry actually broke the tradition in both its style and content. Royal pregnancy announcements, for starters, are never accompanied by photos.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s announcement did not only feature a snap, taken by their good pal Misan Harriman, as it also made reference to their elder child, Archie, which has never been done in any other pregnancy announcement. This, according to Express UK, could be attributed to the Sussex pair’s new life as non-royals.
In November, Meghan Markle shockingly revealed that she suffered a miscarriage. The wife of Prince Harry shared:
“Losing a child means carrying an almost unbearable grief, experienced by many but talked about by few.”

The palace also released a formal and traditional statement when Meghan Markle was expecting her first child, Archie, and before they quit the royal life. It read:
“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the spring of 2019. Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public."
Unlike Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, Kate Middleton and Prince William have always stuck to tradition and announced their pregnancies the old way. Their statements did not mention their other children or were accompanied by a photograph.
Meghan Markle’s Husband Divulged What Life Is Like For Archie And Lilibet
Meanwhile, Prince Harry has revealed what life is like for his two kids with Meghan Markle – Archie and Lilibet. During a chat for U.S. firm BetterUp, the Duke of Sussex shared a rare insight into the Sussex family’s daily routine.
The husband of Meghan Markle admitted that he has “experienced burn-out” in the past and has not made “self-care” an everyday priority. In other words, Prince Harry carves out sometime around Archie and Lilibet’s schedules to do a quick bit of meditation.

The revelation came as Prince Harry surprised his devoted supporters by showing off a new haircut as he appeared in a clip about his mental health.
Other reports suggested that the Duke of Sussex is very much willing to fly his family back to the U.K. to grace the upcoming memorial service for the late Prince Philip in April and the Platinum Jubilee celebrations for Queen Elizabeth’s 70th year as the monarch in June.
