Meghan Markle and Prince Harry joined the royal family at the National Service of Thanksgiving Friday. It was their first public appearance as a couple after they stepped down from their royal duties in 2020, but there was noticeably minimal interaction, and it was allegedly because they were wearing microphones.

Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Accused Of Wearing Microphones During Thanksgiving Service

YouTuber Trevor Coult MC claimed he was told that Princ Harry and Meghan Markle were wearing mics when they attended the Thanksgiving service in honor of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee last week. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were received with a mix of boos and cheers upon arrival at the St. Paul's Cathedral. The viewers also noticed that there was no interaction between the Sussexes and Cambridges.

Coult MC claimed that there was a reason why the senior royals avoided Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during the outing and why nobody wanted to speak to them.

"You notice on the steps of the cathedral Philip and Zara did not say much. You will notice that the Duke of Kent did not say much. You will notice that his brother avoided him. You will notice that Charles and Camilla didn't say anything," the YouTuber said.

"Why do you think no one in the royal family spoke to Harry and Meghan?" he asked. "It's simple, the royals and people in St. Paul's Cathedral were fully aware that Harry and Meghan were wearing microphones. Everyone knew that they were wearing microphones."

The Internet personality claimed the Sussexes were there to "get content." The royals do not want to "totally ignore" them, so they still approached the couple, but they "didn't speak" because "nobody wanted to be recorded."

Did Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Really Wear A Microphone At The Thanksgiving Service?

Some netizens noticed that Meghan Markle touched the collar of her Dior dress several times, and they speculated that it was because she was hiding the mic there. Some claimed that the wires of the hidden mic were visible too.

"Were  #meghanmarkleisanarcissist hiding #Netflix microphones at the #PlatinumJubilee #thanksgivingservice? I caught some of those weird moments where both of them fix their clothes, but she fixes more than once. See the wires of a hidden mic under too," one tweeted.

Meanwhile, Christopher Bouzy doubted the speculations. According to him, it was unlikely, and the critics seemed to imply that Netflix couldn't afford the latest miniature mics and recording devices. He called the rumors "nonsense."

Body language expert Jesus Enrique Rosas checked the footage and noticed that the duchess was also fixing her collar several times, and it was always on the left side. He noted that "it is not remotely enough to claim any hidden microphone," but it could have meant something about how the duchess was feeling at the time.

"We do these kind of gestures to calm ourselves," the body language expert explained. "It can be fixing our clothes or touching our faces, or in the case of Harry, touching and twisting his ring. This is a way to vent stress and it actually works, that's why we do it."

The expert noted that doing is also a way to tell the world that "we are nervous." As for the speculations about the couple wearing a mic, the expert said it was unlikely.

First, the noise and the echo at the cathedral would make the recordings worthless. Second, there are privacy issues.

"You will not be able to use any recorded conversation for any broadcasting service, such as Spotify or Netflix without the permission of the person themselves," the expert said before jokingly adding, "Unless, of course, you've got Disney-grade attorney."

The body language expert noted that if Markle was wearing a mic, the only option was that "they wanted to have any record of conversation" was for "personal use."
