There are reports claiming that the couple will also bring their children, Archie and Lilibet Diana, along with them. However, it has also been confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex won’t join the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
Even though the queen’s Platinum Jubilee is still a couple of weeks away, royal experts are already speculating on what could go down during the important event. And one of them is convinced that there’s more to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s attendance.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Wants To Use The Platinum Jubilee To Talk To Prince William
During a recent interview, royal journalist Erin Vanderhoof said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex might have agreed to attend the Platinum Jubilee because they wanted to use this as an opportunity to talk to the royal family, particularly Prince William.
However, the journalist also believes that Prince Harry wouldn’t have the opportunity to talk to Prince William when he returns to the United Kingdom. After all, their issues are deep and need to be discussed behind closed doors.
“Meghan and Harry together are going to use the Jubilee as an opportunity to make some family moments and introduce the kids to the rest of the family. And they will try at least to make sure they understand that can still figure something out in the future. But our reporting for the podcast shows that the rift between Harry and William is really deep and really personal. It will take both of them coming to a point where they want to make up before that is possible behind closed doors,” she said (via Express).
Prince William And Prince Harry Struggling To Mend Their Rift
Vanderhoof also shared some of the reasons why she thinks Prince William and Prince Harry had a falling out and why it’s taking them longer than expected to resolve their issues.
She said that Prince William and Prince Harry grew up thinking that they would be the second and third most important male figures in Britain. But there’s also no denying the fact that they are both stubborn.
“It just took a couple of key moments, incidents, for them to see they had more issues than they realized. The pandemic has either brought people together or driven them further apart. I think Harry is in a different country has definitely impeded anything they could have done to make it up in recent months,” she said.
Prince William Worried His Conversation With Prince Harry Will Be Included In His Memoir Or Tell-All
Meanwhile, a source told The Sun that Prince William is open to talking to Prince Harry. However, he’s worried that their discussion would be detailed in his upcoming project for Netflix, or in another tell-all, and potentially his upcoming memoir.
After all, the Duke of Sussex also shared details from his private meeting with Queen Elizabeth during his interview with Hoda Kotb ahead of the Invictus Games.
“While the family is delighted Harry and Meghan are coming, there is a real fear of tension, especially over any Netflix crew. There are concerns tension could explode if the Netflix team comes to the UK and tries to exploit their opportunities. The worry is they will push it and try to gain access to areas of Jubilee celebration events where they can film Harry and Meghan and their children. Even if they accept that their Netflix crew can’t go into Buckingham Palace to film, they could cause problems – and at the very least cause a major distraction,” the source said.
The source also claimed that a team of palace aides would be on standby to prevent members of the Netflix crew from getting close to Prince Harry, Markle, and the royal family.
