Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have become favorite subjects of criticism since they were romantically linked to each other in 2016. The ceaseless condemnations of their critics and the British media took a toll on their mental health so they decided to quit the royal life in January 2020.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently living in Montecito in California, alongside their kids -- Archie and Lilibet. Despite being away from the royal family, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry continue to get disparagements for every move they make.

Now, a new report claimed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry followed Kate Middleton and Prince William's Caribbean tour, and felt ever so slightly smug. Keep on reading to know more details.

Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Closely Watched Kate Middleton And Prince William?

Heat Magazine, in its April 5, 2022 issue, claimed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry followed the whole Caribbean tour of Kate Middleton and Prince William, wherein the Cambridge couple was met with protests and criticisms from a number of citizens in Belize, Jamaica, and The Bahamas.

An unnamed source told the entertainment news outlet:

"Of course, Harry and Meghan have followed this whole saga extremely closely. And while Meghan isn't looking to pick a fight with Kate or delight in any wrongdoing, there's definitely a sense of karma here from the Sussexes' perspective. The feeling withing Team Sussex is that the Cambridges are finally being scrutinized and held accountable for the royals' actions, not just their own. And that it's not always a bed of roses, just because they've turned up and made nice with locals, who have been a right to be heard and to sound off about something that's of great concern to them"

Royal historian Dr. Ed Owens previously suggested that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry would have been a better choice for the Caribbean tour instead of Kate Middleton and Prince William. He, reportedly, stated:

"The question I suppose that I might have been asked is if Harry and Meghan were still part of the group, would they be the ones on the tour to the Caribbean? Well, probably. Simply because Harry had built a good rapport already [with Caribbean countries.] And Meghan is much better known in that part of the world."

Ed Owens went on to say that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry also spark a "great deal of interest" among younger generations. The royal historian even told Heat Magazine that the former Suits actress herself would agree.

An unidentified insider told the magazine:

"She feels that she and Harry would have done a better job in the Caribbean and that the royal family needs them. They make it much more modern, which is what the family need. She feels they've been proven right that if they were able to be part-time royals, they would be able to specialize in this type of stuff."

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, allegedly, suggested working as "part-time" royals. In a statement, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said:

"We have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as 'senior' members of the royal family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen."

The source claimed:

"Meghan has sat back for years and watched the Cambridges soak up the PR plaudits and public adulation for their work, which has been tough to take at times, to say the least. On many occassions, it's seemed as though her and Harry's work was taken for granted, white it seemed Kate could turn up to the opening of an envelope, smile sweetly and come out looking like Mother Teresa. It's the same scenario for Harry with his brother in many ways, but Meghan's the one who has definitely found it tougher to take."

Both Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have yet to comment on these claims. So, devoted supporters of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex should take these unverified reports with a huge grain of salt until everything is proven true and correct.

Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Brought Fans To Tears In Recent Public Appearance

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reportedly brought their fans to tears during their very first public engagement since their non-appearance at Prince Philip's memorial service in March. The heartfelt message of Meghan Markle to her friend came after Prince Harry addressed the Invictus Games competitors, which marked his first public appearance since missing the memorial service of Prince Philip last month. The husband of Meghan Markle left competitors for the imminent Invictus Games nearly in tears after he surprised them with a video call from his Montecito mansion.

Prince Harry caused waves of laughter when he teased the competitors over the time they have had to prepare for the sports event, which was last held in 2018. The call from Meghan Markle's husband surprised the athletes, with vice-captain Kelly Leonard saying:

"I was nearly in tears when he gave us a team talk. It was really rousing. The message was about what Invictus is about, that resilience and that journey. It was really wonderful to see him. You realise that no-one, not just you guys, no-one's got any excuses for not being fit now," he teased. The event took place at a final training camp for those involved before the Games take place in the Netherlands during April."
