The analysis combined the couple’s social media following, social engagements, Google search number, media coverage, and combined net worth to determine who reigned among them, which included Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
Though Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been living away from the U.K. for more than two years now, the report revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have remained significant in the country. Pretty Little Thing analyzed global search data to know which royal couples are the most popular that everyone wants the latest rumors on.
A spokesperson for Pretty Little Thing said to Express UK:
“Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have out-ranked Prince William and Kate Middleton in the royal battle and are officially the most-searched-for and sought-after couple of 2022.”

The report revealed that approximately 18,100 people search for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry each month to check their whereabouts and most recent activities. It is said the public got more interested in the Duke and Duchess of Sussex because of their interview appearances and fewer public outings.
Ranking after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are Kate Middleton and Prince William. More or less 14,800 people reportedly search for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge each month, which also cemented the fact that the younger generation of royals are popular to the public.
Despite nabbing the second place, the research proved that Kate Middleton and Prince William are the most popular royal couple still residing in the U.K. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, as most royal followers know, are currently living in their Montecito mansion in the U.S.
Interestingly, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles were able to secure third place. The increased popularity of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall can be credited from the several appearances of Princess Diana’s former husband on television, documentaries, and films.
The results of the said Pretty Little Thing study came after it was claimed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s popularity ratings have declined since their infamous Megxit in January 2020. The plummet, reportedly, prompted the former Suits actress to cancel her plans to return to the U.K. soon.
