Responding to the silence of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, a netizen wrote “no class!” Another netizen simply stated that the Sussex pair’s move was “awful.”
Marie Claire previously reported that Queen Elizabeth was “hurt and disappointed” after learning about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s decision to split with the royal family. In his book titled The Queen, royal author Matthew Dennison offered some insight into how Megxit affected Her Majesty and how her longtime philosophy about the job of monarch ultimately dictated her response.
An excerpt of Matthew Dennison’s book, as per Us Weekly, read:
“Elizabeth was hurt and disappointed.”
Even though Queen Elizabeth had strong feelings about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s exit on personal level, she immediately put the monarchy first when deciding how to proceed and made it clear that the Sussex couple could not use their “royal highness” titles if they were not working royals.
In The Queen book, Matthew Dennison furthered:
“Elizabeth’s official statement expressed loving finality: ‘It is my whole family’s hope that today’s agreement allows them to start building a happy and peaceful new life.’ It was an attempt to reassert control in the interests of damage limitation, and a decisive but dark beginning to a new decade. Elizabeth had never been a sentimental woman; she had acted in the only way she understood. As throughout a life in which she had consistently honoured her father’s belief that ‘the highest of distinctions is the service of others’, she had placed the monarchy first, safeguarding its mission of service and duty that could never, she was certain, be a part-time calling."

Meanwhile, royal experts suggested that the desire of Meghan Markle to return to the entertainment industry is “stronger than ever.” An unnamed insider told Heat World that the ambition of Prince Harry’s wife to make money has never been higher.
The unidentified source furthered:
“Their ambition to make money has never been higher, nor has Meghan’s desire to return to the entertainment sphere with Harry by her side. There was no way she would pull out of the Spotify deal – it’s worth too much. There’s not a week that passes when they’re not getting tapped up by businesses and individuals who are willing to essentially write blank cheques in return for endorsement. They’re aware of the narrative that they’re trying to make a cheap buck at all costs, but they turn down a lot, and at this point, the criticism is just water off a duck’s back.”
Most, if not all, royal followers are aware that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry secured lucrative Netflix and Spotify deals just weeks after their infamous Megxit. However, recently, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were under pressure over their lack of output to both platforms.

So far, reports suggested that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry only produced one Christmas special for Spotify and Netflix is waiting on the Duke of Sussex’s Heart of Invictus series.
In January, Spotify announced that it is hiring three in-house fulltime producers to create and launch Archewell Audio shows that features “the voices of high-profile women.” Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are also expected to produce more contents for Netflix this year.
