Express UK conducted a poll recently to know its readers would support Meghan Markle and Prince Harry if they rejoin as working royals should Prince Charles finally becomes king. The survey came amid reports that the Sussex couple could return to the U.K. later this year and claims that the Prince of Wales is likely to take over the throne soon.

A total of 52,358 respondents participated in the Express UK poll. Of the total number of votes cast, 48,897 (93%) voted “no” while 2,631 (5%) said yes. The remaining 830 (2%) said they did not know.

After the respondents cast their votes, some also left comments below the poll. One netizen stated:

“[Harry] is a person that had the world on a plate for years…Then all of a sudden he doesn't want anything to do with any of them. So my answer is NO!”

Another Express UK reader wrote:

Other netizens suggested that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry must avoid putting themselves in competition with Kate Middleton and Prince William. One user penned:

“There will always be this one-upmanship on Harry and Megan's part.”

The publication also asked its readers if they would read Prince Harry’s upcoming memoir when it is released. To recall, the book of Meghan Markle’s husband is reported to hit the shelves in late 2022 and sources claimed it would “shake the monarchy to its core.”

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry faced another backlash after they were accused of proving their power amid their ongoing U.K. security row. To recall, the Duke of Sussex had requested police protection during his visit to Britain and asked the Home Office if he could pay their own security.
