Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton have been compared to each other for years.
Ever since the Duchess of Sussex joined the royal family in 2018, all eyes have been on her, and comparisons between her and her sister-in-law have become rampant. However, it has already been established how different the two women are from each other. Still, this never stopped royal experts from analyzing their every move, as well as the way they dress.
Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton's Body Language Compared
While speaking with Mirror UK, body language expert Judi James compared Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton’s public displays during the queen’s Platinum Jubilee. And it’s not surprising to know that Middleton appeared more serious throughout the festivities. Markle, on the other hand, seemed very playful and relaxed.
“Glimpsed from a window we could see Meghan and Harry looking unexpectedly relaxed and upbeat in a low-key appearance that seemed much more to their tastes than previous awkward, tense appearances with the rest of the Firm. Meghan was looking playful and in her element with a group of young royals who also seemed to adore her, shushing them with her eyes wide and rounded but also smiling and she shushed to suggest she wasn’t being totally serious,” she said (via Cheat Sheet).
James also said that Markle lovingly gazed at Prince Harry during their recent outing. And this is one of the things that made the couple famous because they are very affectionate towards each other in public.
“And the fun they were having looked a world away from some of the more tense-looking poses from the top-level royals out on the balcony as they watched the fly-past,” she said.
But when it comes to Prince William’s wife, James said that Middleton appeared to be very serious during the outing.
“William and Kate emerged wearing their serious facial expressions, with William directing their children into position before standing apart from Kate to ensure a good spread of parental guidance,” she said.
Meanwhile, body language expert Adrienne Carter looked at Middleton’s interactions with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis and said that the mom of three showed how close her entire family is. It also seemed as though everyone had a blast during the queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Kate Middleton Criticized Over Prince Louis’s Behavior
However, some people were not thrilled with how the Duchess of Cambridge handled Prince Louis’s behavior during some of the key events at the Platinum Jubilee.
On Twitter, royal fans slammed Middleton for not being able to control Prince Louis’s rowdy behavior. The 4-year-old was spotted making faces at his mom. And he also jumped on the chair at one point.
“At what point do we go from ‘wow, what a relatable toddler moment’ to ‘wow, you have no control of your children?’ Because that video is [cringe emoji],” one person tweeted (via Yahoo! News).
“I just think an expert [in] early years would have a better understanding of which events your 4-year-old could handle and which events he can’t. And maybe an understanding of how to control them a bit in public. There’s a whole gap between robotic and straight-up badly behaved. And to be clear - I’m criticizing the parents here. I’m not making fun of a child or picking on a child or whatever nonsense anyone is gonna say,” another person wrote.
A Markle fan also came to the Duchess of Sussex’s defense by reminding the public how the then-new mom was questioned because of how she was carrying Archie. But royal fans immediately came to Middleton’s defense after seeing Prince Louis’s behavior.
Another person went as far as calling Prince Louis a brat.
“Which four-year-olds sometimes are. But if this was Meghan and her son, the response would be unrelenting. The British press and trolls would go on about this for a year,” the Twitter user added.
As of late, Middleton hasn’t responded to the criticisms, and it’s unlikely for her to ever will.
