MCU Series on Disney Plus: Data Shows Major Problem on Getting New Subscribers

Since the Marvel Cinematic Universe ventured into series, the titles in their roster have been pivotal in setting the stage for the future of the franchise after the Infinity Saga ended. These shows have been successful in topping the charts; however, data indicates that there is a major problem: the viewers are the existing subscribers and Disney Plus is only getting a few new ones.

MCU Series on Disney Plus: Data Shows Major Problem on Getting New Subscribers

Parrot Analytics released a table showing the audience demand of a series which tells the viewers’ interest in each of it and the engagement it receives. The Marvel shows lined up are WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Loki, Hawkeye, and Moon Knight. So far, Moon Knight is 86.5 times more in demand versus other shows since its premiere.

Parrot Analytics presented their data for each of the live-action series that Marvel has on Disney Plus and while it is true that these shows are always topping the charts, cementing themselves on the top of the heap versus other shows on different platforms, it shows that there is a major problem when it comes to gaining new subscribers for their subscriber base.

This means that the audience of the Marvel shows are pre-existing subscribers of Disney Plus. Alongside the Star Wars series on the streaming platform, Marvel gets the highest views for Disney Plus but in time, there comes a decline in the demand of these shows months after the initial release. In Disney Plus’ efforts to expand their audience, they even included former Netflix Marvel shows in their library.

However, this backfired on its brand of being a family-friendly service that some parent groups did not agree to the platform’s decision. Still, Disney Plus continues to try to broaden their audience and appeal to new viewers subscribing on their streaming service.

Currently, Moon Knight holds the throne as the top show globally and it is soaring high. However, the show may also follow the footsteps of the previous shows released by Marvel on Disney Plus like WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Loki, and Hawkeye. The next series to arrive will be Ms. Marvel, one that would appeal to a younger audience.

All these Marvel shows are streaming exclusively on Disney Plus. Moon Knight’s finale is about to arrive on May 4, 2022.
