Marvel’s Echo Rumored to be Jessica Jones’ MCU Debut

It has finally been confirmed that Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio will be returning in the upcoming Echo Disney+ series. This move would continue Marvel’s push of introducing its former Netflix characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the shows – Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, Punisher, Daredevil, and Jessica Jones – were moved from Netflix to Disney. While Daredevil and Kingpin are officially confirmed to appear in the Echo series, Jessica Jones is also rumored to make an appearance in the show.

In a recent report from The Weekly Planet YouTube channel, they reported one of the plotlines in the Echo series deals with Daredevil, whose secret identity is attorney Matt Murdock, searching for his former ally, Jessica Jones.

Krysten Ritter played the private investigator in the two seasons of Jessica Jones on Netflix, along with The Defenders miniseries, and the Luke Cage series. While both Vincent D'Onofrio and Charlie Cox have already made an appearance in the MCU, Echo could offer Ritter the chance to reprise her Jessica Jones role.

Recently, Disney+ has updated the title card and logo for the Jessica Jones series, changing it to A.K.A. Jessica Jones. Some speculations are pointing to Disney+ planning to make a revival for Jessica Jones, thus wanting to change its previous Netflix series name.

"[I was approached] earlier this year," D’Onofrio said in a previous interview with ComicBook.com when he was asked about him returning as Kingpin in the Hawkeye series. Kevin called me and of course I said, 'Hell yeah.' I was told from my representatives that he [Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige] wanted my phone number and he called me directly."My first thought was 'Wow, maybe he's gonna invite me to the MCU,' and that's what he did immediately. He started talking about Hawkeye."

Marvel’s Echo series is set to be released in 2023 on Disney+. Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fists, and other former Netflix Marvel shows are now available to stream on Disney+.
