Marvel Studios is resurrecting fan-favorite character Vision for a new TV series that is slated to premiere in 2026.

One of the unanswered questions left by WandaVision was the fate of White Vision, who disappeared to nowhere in the final episode after he acquired the memories of the original Vision.

Fans have been wondering since then whether an upcoming MCU project will address the character's mysterious fate and what happened to him since the events of WandaVision.

A recent report confirmed that Marvel Studios is developing a Vision TV series with Paul Bettany returning to reprise his iconic MCU role. It is slated for 2026 release on Disney+.

Star Trek: Picard executive producer Terry Matalas has been tapped to serve as the showrunner.

The new series will follow the events of WandaVision where the White Vision explores his new purpose in life after acquiring the original memories.

An earlier version of the project, titled Vision Quest, was in the works with WandaVision and Agatha All Along showrunner Jac Schaeffer heading the development. However, that iteration didn't push through for unknown reasons.

Matalas was brought on board after his work on Star Trek: Picard season 3 which "greatly impressed" the top brass at Marvel Studios.

Some fans also noticed that Matalas and Kevin Feige (who is a Trekkie himself) have become mutual friends lately as they were spotted together at events and appeared in an episode of the Star Trek podcast Inglorious Treksperts.

This is exciting news for MCU fans since we will finally learn what happened to White Vision and a TV series format will allow them to do a deeper exploration of the character.

Matalas' involvement also shows a lot of promise for the project since he has proven in his past works that he is a good genre storyteller. It wouldn't be surprising if he'll look at Star Trek as his inspiration for the themes and philosophies that the series will tackle.
