Marvel and Sony Spider-Man Split May Not Happen Again According to Kevin Feige

Around two years ago, fans were upset when news came that Spider-Man is out of the MCU as Sony and Marvel Studios didn't reach an agreement to keep the character. But later on, they were able to work things out and the relationship continues, with Spider-Man: No Way Home coming before this year ends. Fortunately, our friendly neighbor might not be leaving the MCU anytime soon.

Per ComicBook.com, during an interview with Empire Magazine, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige reflected on the Sony/Marvel split situation in the past. He shared, "I was mentally preparing to emotionally separate from it. I didn't love it, but it is what it is. And then, thankfully, it came back together." Regarding if such things would ever happen again, he said, "I don't anticipate us going through that emotional rollercoaster, or putting fans through that emotional rollercoaster, again."

This may be good news for us fans who might be worried that Spider-Man: No Way Home will be Spider-Man's last appearance in the MCU. Feige did not clearly indicate that Sony and Marvel will never split again, but he did assure us that we might not see it happening anytime soon. After all, the MCU is now dealing with the multiverse and the possibilities are now endless including the connection to the Venom-Verse, which we might see very soon as teased in the post-credits scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

It won't be surprising if Marvel Studios and Sony were already planning about connecting their respective universes in some capacity which will definitely delight fans. It is a win-win for everyone after all. Right now, the future of Spider-Man after No Way Home is still unknown and we might know the answer once we finally see the film. We do know that Sony has a lot of their Spider-Man Universe films on slate such as Morbius and Kraven the Hunter.
