It's no secret that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has drawn huge inspiration from the comics and more often than not, Marvel's rich and decades-long catalog is the backbone of the billion-dollar franchise. But on rare occasions, there are instances where it's the other way around, and the pages of the comics pull from the live-action universe's original stories.

Take for instance the latest issue of Scarlet Witch's solo comic run which just canonized a major plot first featured in WandaVision. In issue # 5 of the ongoing title, Wanda’s Hex aka the "Westview Anomaly" was referenced in one of the panels. The upcoming issue's synopsis which hits stores in May reads: "Just when the Scarlet Witch thinks she’s shielded Darcy Lewis from their new enemy’s vendetta, Scythia returns – covered in armor made from the same antimagic rock Wanda’s been studying."

The Hex is a barrier Wanda accidentally created in Westview through her powers. It later resulted in the Scarlet Witch being able to create her own reality which is heavily influenced by the sitcoms she and her biological family religiously watched. Check out a panel from Scarlet Witch # 5 here:

Speaking of the Harbinger of Chaos, actress Elizabeth Olsen has been very vocal about her desire to return to the MCU, despite Wanda's intriguing fate in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Now, we don't know for sure if she'll actually make her return before the Multiverse Saga culminates but even Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has previously stated that the Scarlet Witch's MCU journey is far from done.

All episodes of WandaVision are available to stream on Disney+.
