Marvel Allegedly Wants Kristen Ritter's Jessica Jones in the MCU

Though Marvel has made it clear that the Netflix shows like Daredevil and Iron Fist aren't connected with the main universe, rumor has come out that they are planning on salvaging some characters from the series like Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock a.k.a. Daredevil. What's interesting is, Marvel allegedly wants another Defender in the MCU as well.

According to insider Daniel Richtman (via Knight Edge Media), Marvel is looking to bring back Kristen Ritter's private investigator Jessica Jones. We don't know where they want to bring her back in, but seeing as Spider-Man 3 is already pretty crowded, it's possible they could just have her back in another movie or series like Spider-Woman or Captain Marvel.

While I didn't think that Jessica Jones was perfect, there are a lot of elements that worked, especially when it came to David Tennant's Kilgrave. The use of his mental powers was just so terrifying, and he really was a formidable villain for Jessica who basically just has Captain America's strength with Tony Stark's alcoholism.

Maybe they'll find a way to do a soft reboot of the character in the MCU. It would be great to have some more established superheroines, especially with Black Widow gone and Captain Marvel just starting out. Then again, this is all just speculation for now, but I think the introduction of a multi-verse can pretty much make it happen.

Jessica Jones hasn't been officially announced, but MCU Phase 4 launches with WandaVision on January 15, 2021.
