If there are any themes for the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe other than the multiverse, it’s passing the baton to the next hero to take on a certain role. This was apparent in The Falcon being the new Captain America, in Yelena Belova shaped up to be the next Black Widow, and as for Hulk, Tatiana Maslany is about to debut as She-Hulk in her own series and Mark Ruffalo seems to hint at his retirement saying, “I’m passing the banner to her.”

During the New York premiere of the film The Adam Project, Mark Ruffalo got to share what is in store for the upcoming She-Hulk where his MCU character, Hulk/ Bruce Banner, would be shaping up lawyer Jennifer Walters to being She-Hulk. In a talk with Access Hollywood, as posted on Twitter through @tatwalters, Ruffalo said, “I'm passing the banner onto her.”

Ruffalo shared what it is like to work with Tatiana Maslany, "Tatiana Maslany is freaking legendary as the She-Hulk. I'm passing the 'banner' onto her. Yeah, there's some really good, funny, cool, long, long scenes between the Professor and her. We've never really seen the Hulk interact with people the way he does in that show. It will be really interesting."

Mark Ruffalo debuted as Bruce Banner/Hulk in The Avengers (2012), replacing Edward Norton as the big green guy who loves to smash. Ruffalo reprised his role for the next decade and Banner was last seen in the post-credits scene of Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings where he was meeting with Wong and Captain Marvel about the ten rings that Shang-Chi got from his father, Wenwu.
