We already know that Chris Hemsworth is playing a major role in Furiosa but his character in the upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road spin-off film is still a huge mystery. We may not know anything about Hemsworth's part in the movie but some new set photos have offered a glimpse at the mysterious character who somehow resembles a different Thor: Ragnarok character!

The new images from the set of Furiosa have been shared on Twitter and if you look closely, that's Chris Hemsworth under the flowing auburn hair and beard and upturned mustache. You can check out the pictures here.

It's an interesting new look for Chris Hemsworth who we've always known for his blond locks. Amazingly, the look makes Hemsworth resemble another Asgardian who has appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. This time, Hemsworth could pass for a stand-in of Volstagg of the Warrior Three in the Thor movies. Volstagg was played by Ray Stevenson in the MCU films.

But who is Chris Hemsworth playing in Furiosa? There have been speculations that he has been cast as Doctor Dementus or just Dementus. However, the description of the character reveals Dementus has a facial scar. Considering that Hemsworth's face is completely smooth, there's a possibility that he is actually playing a completely different character.

Furiosa is currently in production but we have yet to get a glimpse of Anya Taylor-Joy in action. The New Mutants star has already been confirmed to play the younger version of Furiosa who was originally played by Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road. Hopefully, we'll get our first look at Furiosa very soon. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Mad Max: Furiosa will be directed by George Miller and also star Tom Burke, Nathan Jones, and Angus Sampson but their roles are still undisclosed. The film will premiere on May 24, 2024. In the meantime, Chris Hemsworth appears as the God of Thunder in Thor: Love and Thunder which will hit theaters on July 8, 2022.
